Aloysians Athletics Club athletes produced an impressive string of performances during the latest track and field meet, registering numerous personal bests, heat wins, and top finishes across multiple age categories and events.
In the men’s 100m, Andrea Grech sprinted to a personal best of 11.36 seconds, earning second place in the U18 category. Gianluca Lia clocked 11.98 seconds—his personal best—to win his heat, closely followed by Andre Camilleri, who also recorded a PB with 12.02 seconds. Aiden Xuereb added to the club’s success with another personal best of 12.12 seconds.
The women’s 100m event saw Martina Gouder shine with a heat victory in a personal best time of 13.35 seconds. Raquela Calleja also achieved a new PB of 13.57 seconds. Kylie Bonello crossed the line in 14.09 seconds, a personal best, while Luis Ebejer record a personal best as well, finishing in 14.81 seconds.
Over 200m, Andrea Grech continued his fine form by finishing second in the U18s with a season-best time of 23.08 seconds. Andrew Carabez impressed with a heat win in 24.70 seconds, not only a personal best but also the fastest in the U16 category. He was closely followed by Aiden Xuereb, who clocked a season best of 24.92 seconds.
In the women’s 200m, Martina Gouder once again stood out by recording a personal best of 27.27 seconds, while Raquela Calleja followed with a solid time of 27.98 seconds.
The long jump events brought further success. In the female U18 category, Raquela Calleja jumped 4.66m to secure first place, with Kylie Bonello landing a mark of 3.78m. Andrea Grech added to his winning tally by topping the U18 boys’ event with a jump of 5.51m.
These results underline the club’s growing momentum and the athletes’ consistent development. With personal bests across the board and strong placements in both sprints and field events, Aloysians continue to showcase their dedication and competitive spirit.
