A strong Saturday outing saw Aloysians Athletics Club athletes collect podium finishes and set numerous personal bests at the Mellieħa AC Youth and Kids Races, and the Marsa Multi-Events.
At Mellieħa, Kimberly Marie Gatt won the U12s 1.5k race in 6:18 (gun time), while in the U8s 1k race, Elisa Agius (4:36) and Amy Vella (4:51) finished second and third, respectively.
Meanwhile, at the Marsa Multi-Events, there were several notable performances.
In the U14 boys’ 100m, Benjamin Gusman clocked a personal best of 13.56s to place third, while Juze’ Cassar (16.02s) and Julian Cassar (16.53s) also achieved PBs.
In the 300m for the same category, Gusman registered another PB of 45.49s to finish third overall.
In the high jump, Juze’ cleared 1.15m, while Julian reached 1.05m.
In the shot put event, Gusman (7.56m, PB) and Julian (6.92m) placed second and third respectively, with Juze’ also competing and achieving a mark of 5.42m.
At U12 level, the 60m race featured strong participation. Kilen Bonello registered a PB of 10.03s, just ahead of Samuel Vassallo’s 10.04s (PB). Calvin Bonello clocked 10.12s (PB), followed by Guze Farrugia (10.72s, PB), Zack Stafrace (11.36s), and Andrea Mifsud (11.58s).
In the 300m race, Kilen Bonello recorded another PB of 54.82s, followed by Calvin Bonello with 55.48s (PB), Guze Farrugia at 57.88s (PB), Samuel Vassallo at 58.07s, Zack Stafrace at 1:01.92 (PB), and Andrea Mifsud at 1:10.65.
In the U12 Ball Throw event, Zack Stafrace led the group with a best mark of 30.10m. Calvin Bonello followed with 25.77m, Samuel Vassallo registered 23.91m (PB), Kilen Bonello reached 23.05m, and Guze Farrugia closed the group with a PB of 19.42m.
In the 4 Bounds event, Calvin Bonello jumped at 8.74m followed by Kilen Bonello at 8.58m, Zack Stafrace at 8.45m, Andrea Mifsud at 7.72m and Guze Farrugia at 7.06, (PB).
In the U14 girls’ category, Ella Grech set a personal best of 15.04s in the 100m and completed the 300m in 49.14s. She also took part in the shot put, marking a throw of 5.88m.
In the U12 girls’ events, Lara Dalli clocked a PB of 11.03s in the 60m, another PB of 1:03.54 in the 300m, a mark of 7.60m in the 4 Bounds, and a best mark of 17.72m in the Ball Throw.
