We are incredibly proud of our Aloysians Athletics Club athletes, Andrea Grech and Raquela Calleja, who represented Malta as part of the National Team and delivered fantastic performances in their respective events at the 75th FISEC-FICEP Games, held in Budapest (Hungary).

Andrea Grech – results:

Day 1

  • 100m Heats: Clocked an impressive 11.38s, securing a place in the final.
  • 200m Heats: Finished 2nd overall with a strong 23.10s, qualifying directly for the final.
  • 4x100m Boys Relay Heats: Ran the anchor leg with teammates Jacques Borg, Nick Bonnett, and Luigi Spina. The team finished with 44.59s, earning a spot in the final.

Day 2

  • 4x100m Boys Relay Final: Joined Luigi Spina, Nick Bonnett, and Carl Zammit Bondin to clinch a brilliant silver medal with a blazing time of 43.99s – just 0.08s off the U18 National Record.

Day 3

  • 200m Final: Stormed to 2nd and secured another silver medal for Malta.
  • Mixed Swedish Relay: Ran a strong 200m leg alongside Cheziane Debattista, Carey Spiteri, and Nick Bonnett. The team earned gold, breaking the FISEC Games record and the National U18, U20 & U23 Records with an outstanding time of 2:06.20.

Raquela Calleja – results:

Day 1

  • 100m Heats: Finished 5th in her heat with a time of 13.54s in a competitive field.
  • 4x100m Girls Relay Heats: Ran the third leg with teammates Madeleine Bonello, Zoe Zammit, and Jodie Scicluna Montfort. The team clocked 50.52s, securing a spot in the final.

Day 2

  • 4x100m Girls Relay Final: Competed with Bonello, Zammit, and Scicluna Montfort in Team B, delivering a strong performance and placing 6th overall.

Day 3

  • Long Jump Final: Leapt to a new personal best of 5.06m, earning her a spot in the final and showcasing great improvement and potential.
